Many South Africans take for granted that all schools have the essentials their learners need; this is not always the case. In many schools across South Africa, hungry learners, inadequate facilities and few classroom essentials compromise our children’s education and ultimately, their futures. The Sanlam Blue Ladder Schools project aims to change this. We created a way for everyone to help. We gave South Africa the best kind of retail therapy – the chance to Shop for Good.

We used retail spaces designed for South Africans to spend on themselves and asked them to shop for the greater good. Shoppers could shop quickly and easily via SnapScan QR codes in the catalogue and pop-up shop or add items to an online shopping basket on the website. By flipping the retail experience, we showed just how easy it is to make a real difference in Sanlam Blue Ladder Schools and education in our country, today and well into the future.
