The Neverending Tourist

The Neverending Tourists

To get back on the consideration list of international travellers as boarders open post the 2020 pandemic, we wanted to show that Cape Town and the Western Cape was the perfect destination to ease back into global travel. Because of our wide-open spaces, diverse culture and hospitable people, you may never want to leave.

So we turned to the experts, tourists who came to the Western Cape on holiday and never left, we called them our Neverending Tourists. We selected four former tourists who have settled in South Africa and asked them to call home and let their fellow countrymen know why they decided to stay.

Through a fully customised Facebook bot, our Neverending Tourists told their stories in their own words, inviting users to chat and discover their favourite weekend activities, secret spots to hike, surf, cycle, or enjoy lunch and a bottle of wine. They gave viewers the chance to live vicariously through them and share all the insider tips and information they might need to plan a trip to Cape Town and the Westen Cape.
